Caroline Young is the president of the Nashville Health Care Council, a Nashville, Tennessee-based health care industry association of nearly 200 member organizations. In this capacity she works with executives to foster the growth of Nashville’s health care industry and to further position Nashville as the nation's health care industry capital. Caroline joined the Council in 2004, serving as the organization’s vice president and the founding executive director of the Council’s Leadership Health Care initiative, a 400+ member group dedicated to nurturing the talents of Nashville’s next generation of health care industry leaders. Prior to joining the Council, Caroline was a member of the Health Care practice of the Ingram Group, a public affairs and government relations firm. She was also founding executive director of the Tennessee Biotechnology Association and the director of Communications and Advertising for the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (ECD). Caroline holds a M.S. from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and a B.A. from the University of Mississippi. As an undergraduate she also studied at the University of Nottingham in England. A Nashville native, Caroline is a member of the American Heart Association Circle of Red and the U.S. Women Business Leaders in Health Care. She currently serves on the boards of such organizations as the Friends of Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, the Tennessee Biotechnology Association, Cumberland Emerging Technologies Advisory Board and the Nashville Entrepreneur Center. Judith Byrd Director, Leadership Health Care
Judith Byrd is director of Leadership Health Care, an initiative of the Nashville Health Care Council. In this role, she oversees all aspects of LHC including program development, logistics, communication and membership recruitment and retention. Judith has experience in journalism, government and health policy. Prior to joining the Council in 2006, she worked as an account executive for Hall Strategies, a public affairs and government relations firm. She was also the Tennessee Marketing and Communications director for the American Cancer Society. She has served as health policy associate for the Washington, D.C.-based Alliance for Health Reform and as legislative director for a Massachusetts state senator. She was a news desk editor at the U.K. Press Association, in London, England, and served as editor of the Community Health Funding Report, a Washington, D.C.-based publication covering Congress, the White House and the U.S. Supreme Court. Judith holds a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications from Samford University in Birmingham, AL.
Caleb Graves Director of Membership Services
Caleb Graves is the director of membership services for the Nashville Health Care Council. He is charged with member outreach, retention and recruitment. Prior to moving to Nashville, Caleb spent approximately six years in Washington, D.C. working at the White House where he held several key positions. During his tenure at the White House he served as a liaison to state and local elected officials in the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs working with the nation’s governors, mayors, state legislators, and county officials. He also worked on the Supreme Court nominations of Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Sam Alito and as an Associate Director in the Office of Strategic Initiatives where he assisted with the coordination of Presidential events across the country. In his final role at the White House, Caleb served as the Deputy Director of the Office of Public Liaison. In this position he formulated and executed outreach strategies to communicate the President’s agenda and oversaw the coordination and implementation of events inside the White House. A native of Kansas City, Missouri, Caleb holds a B.A. in Political Science and Economics from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Jamie D. Lee Director, Events and Sponsorships
As director of events and sponsorships, Jamie oversees the execution, implementation and management of Council events, including trade missions, and Leadership Health Care delegations. In addition, Jamie oversees sponsorship sales and coordination for both the Council and Leadership Health Care. Immediately prior to joining the Council, Jamie was manager of Marketing and Public Relations at Cross Country Education, a national continuing education company for health care professionals. She also served as vice president of Sales and Marketing for Envision, Inc., producers of educational video programs for the health care industry. Jamie holds a B.S. in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Marketing, from Tennessee Technological University, Cookeville, TN. Sophie Moore Director of Communications
Sophie Moore is the director of communications for the Nashville Health Care Council. She is responsible for all communication activities to Council members, media and other key stakeholders.
Previously, Sophie served as director of communications for the Tennessee Department of Revenue and an assistant public information officer at the Department of Health. She specialized in health care at GolinHarris public relations agency in Atlanta following her graduation from Vanderbilt University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Human and Organizational Development.
Sophie serves on the board of the Nashville Women's Political Caucus and All About Women, which connects women to free health and well-being resources.
Mark Richard Operations Manager Mark Richard is the operations manager for the Nashville Health Care Council. He is responsible for all financial transaction processing and monthly reporting for the Council and Leadership Health Care. Additionally, Mark provides guidance to Council staff on operational activities and consistency of internal processes. Prior to working with the Council, he served as director of accounting with the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce. In this role, Mark worked closely with affiliate organizations, providing day-to-day accounting support. He also had responsibilities in the Chamber's payroll and HR functions. Mark is a board member, treasurer and volunteer for Cottage Cove Urban Ministries, as well as a volunteer and former board member for Hands On Nashville. He holds a B.A. in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Finance, from Transylvania University in Lexington, KY. Jenni Bradley Project Coordinator
Jenni Bradley serves as the project coordinator for the Nashville Health Care Council. In this capacity, Jenni supports Council and Leadership Health Care events and special initiatives. She also manages day-to-day organizational activities in the office. Jenni worked at the U.S. Department of Education in Washington, D.C. where she served as the coordinator of scheduling and events in the Office of Legislative and Congressional Affairs. Jenni helped produce and edit congressional member issue documents and biographies, information on witnesses and testimony, and created materials for the Secretary of Education’s briefing book. She also served as the briefing book coordinator for former Deputy Secretary of Education Ray Simon. Jenni worked in the White House Office of Presidential Correspondence as a gift analyst processing incoming gifts for the President and First Family. She began her career in the Washington, D.C. office of Congressman John J. Duncan, Jr. where she served as legislative correspondent and staff assistant. A Nashville native, Jenni holds a M.A. in Political Management from The George Washington University and a B.A. in College Scholars from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. |
