  Leadership Health Care (LHC) is now accepting applications for service on the Education & Events Committee and Marketing & Membership Committee. These two committees provide opportunity for active engagement in LHC.
   
  Additional details related to the committee application process:
  •     All individuals who have been an LHC member for at least one year may apply.
  •     LHC members may submit just one application with their preferred committee indicated.
  •     Current committee members must reapply with the exception of LHC board members.

• The Council Hosts Executives from China

  The Council hosted a delegation of health care and pharmaceutical executives from China on Thursday, March 7, for a discussion about potential opportunities for collaboration between China and Tennessee’s health care industry.

  The Chinese executives were interested in learning about Nashville’s thriving business and health care community.   The Nashville Health Care Council announced today the inaugural class of the Nashville Health Care Council Fellows.

  The Fellows initiative, announced in November, is designed to engage industry leaders in clearly defining health care’s greatest challenges, and exploring new strategies to meet these issues facing the U.S. health care system today.

  More than 125 Leadership Health Care members were treated to a conversation with HCA chairman and CEO Richard Bracken on Tuesday. Jim Cheek, member, Bass, Berry & Sims, facilitated the discussion.

  Founded in 1968, Nashville-based HCA was one of the nation's first hospital companies. Today, the company is comprised of locally managed facilities, including 163 hospitals and 110 freestanding surgery centers in 20 states and England. HCA employs approximately 199,000 people.

• LHC Members Tour Saint Thomas Hospital’s Unity System

  As part of Leadership Health Care’s ongoing “Industry Tour Series,” members of LHC were given an inside look at Saint Thomas Hospital’s Unity System on Tuesday. Launched in 2012, the Unity System is the first fully-integrated neurosurgical center of its kind in the United States for treating brain tumors.   Just under 100 members of Leadership Health Care (LHC) attended an executive briefing on Thursday with A.J. Kazimi, chairman and CEO of Cumberland Pharmaceuticals. Kazimi, a 20-year veteran in the international biopharmaceutical industry, has served in his current position since the specialty pharmaceutical firm was established in 1999.
