• What is the Nashville Health Care Council?

  The Nashville Health Care Council, founded in 1995 as an affiliate of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, is an association of health care industry leaders working together to further establish Nashville's position as the nation's health care industry capital.

• Why is Nashville a health care industry capital?

  Health care is Nashville's largest and fastest growing employer, with an overall economic benefit of more than $30 billion and 200,000 jobs annually. The region is home to more than 250 health care companies that represent diverse segments of the industry.   Leadership Health Care (LHC), formed in 2002 as an initiative of the Nashville Health Care Council, cultivates the talent and potential of Nashville's expansive health care industry. With 550 members representing more than 250 health care companies, LHC is the foremost and largest organization for emerging leaders in the field, offering unique development programs. • How do I join the Nashville Health Care Council?

  The Council's membership is open to organizations committed to the continued development of Nashville's health care industry. Members pay an annual membership fee to participate in the Council. For more information about a Council membership package for your company, please complete a membership inquiry form or contact Membership Services Director Caleb Graves. Membership in the Council is subject to approval by the Council Board of Directors.

• How do I know what membership level my company qualifies for?

  The Council's diverse membership of health care companies and professional services firms makes the Council unique. In order to support this diversity, the Council's annual investment levels are based on pre-determined criteria.  The criteria evaluated for membership include an organizations’ annual revenue, type of health care company and its impact on patient care, and the location of a company’s headquarters. Learn more about membership levels.

• How long does membership last?

  Membership in the Council is one year. The first month of membership coincides with the date a member company joins and runs for 12 consecutive months. Apply now.

• Do members have to pay the investment fee at one time?

  Payments are paid in full at the beginning or annual anniversary of membership. Special arrangements may be made for semi-annual payments. Apply now.

• Can non-members attend Council events?

  Council programs are members-only with the exception of one to two events each year.

• Can multiple employees from a member company attend Council activities?

  Yes, the Council's corporate membership allows for all employees to utilize the benefits of the Council. Each member company has one primary contact who determines the individuals within their organization who should receive Council information. Apply now.

• May an individual sign up for Council membership?

  The Council's membership is at the organization level. The Council's corporate membership allows for all employees to utilize the benefits of the Council. Each member company has one primary contact who determines the individuals within their organization who should receive Council information.

  Leadership Health Care (LHC) was formed by the Council to foster the next generation of health care leaders and membership is open to individuals. Membership in LHC does not give an individual access to Council membership activities unless that individual's organization is also a corporate member of the Council. Initiatives are focused around the continued promotion of growing Nashville's health care industry by fostering a supportive operating environment for existing, start-up and relocating health care businesses. 

   

  The Council formed Leadership Health Care (LHC) in 2002 to foster the next generation of health care leaders by providing members with ongoing opportunities to develop their knowledge of the health care industry through educational events and networking opportunities. LHC membership is open to individuals. A membership in LHC does not give an individual access to Council membership activities unless that individual's organization is also a corporate member of the Council. LHC offers its members a separate set of programming activities.
